Describe your call to priesthood. It included a pool table, a fire exit, a girlfriend and CPE.

Did anyone provide you with the inspiration to follow the call to priesthood? My parents, priests who served in Carroll, parishioners in Carroll, classmates in seminary and a couple of professors.

Was it a difficult decision to make? I would think that the better word would be important. Was it an important decision? YES! Important decisions seem to always call for repeated reflection, prayer, reflections with significant people, a sense in one’s heart from God that this is the right way to go. …All of this goes into any important decision that people make.

What do you enjoy most about being a priest? The people and the situations which God brings into a priest’s life.

Are there any particular devotions or prayers that are dear to your heart? Listening. To God’s Word, to prayers of memory, to words of prayers of the church, to writings of saints and saints in the making. . .these and others are great sources of food for me.

Why do you find the priesthood to be a worthy vocation? If one can be a synapse with God for someone, this seems to be a worthwhile contribution.

What would you say to a young man considering a vocation to the priesthood? Take a good look! There are many ways in which a person can be a synapse with God. Choose the vocation which seems to be a good fit for the heart God has given you.
